Triple H Accused Of Still Talking WWE Creative With Vince McMahon
The Vince McMahon era in WWE is officially over, but are fans still getting a product influenced by him through Triple H?
Vince McMahon briefly retired in the summer of 2022 when allegations about sexually-motivated hush money payments started to make the rounds. However, McMahon clearly thought the heat had died down at the start of 2023 as he used his position as majority shareholder to force his way back into power.
McMahon was front and centre when Endeavor completed its takeover of WWE in September 2023, with McMahon named as Executive Chairman of TKO Group. It was left to Triple H to run WWE’s creative direction as Chief Content Officer. But with McMahon still involved, few believed he wasn’t involved to some degree in what the company he owned for forty years was doing.
That all changed when Vince McMahon resigned from his role as sponsors threatened to pull out after a lawsuit emerged detailing serious sexual abuse accusations against McMahon. That ended his official role with WWE completely. But a former talent in the company thinks he still has a massive influence.
Triple H Taking Advice From Vince McMahon?
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Shane Douglas discussed WWE’s future under TKO. Douglas noted that he thinks Triple H and Vince McMahon likely still discuss the creative goings on, but even still, The Game learned all he knows from his father-in-law, so McMahon’s influence is still all over the company in that way:
The problem I think is that even though Vince is supposedly gone, who did Hunter learn from? Vince. Who did Stephanie learn from? Vince. So them still being involved in it, they’re probably going to keep getting Vince.
It wouldn’t surprise you in the least if, in fact, it would be my expectation that Hunter’s probably talking to him quite a lot. That’s not to say that Hunter’s not creating his own ideas or… putting his own stamp on it.
