Top WWE Star Still Without A New Contract
A big name in WWE is still without a new contract despite rumors that are currently out there.
The contract status of former two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre remains a big topic among wrestling fans. It has been reported in the past that his contract will expire in early 2024 and with two months left in 2023, that means the time is getting close.
In an update on Drew McIntyre’s contract status with WWE, Fightful Select was told that McIntyre has not signed a new contract with the company. There were rumors on X/Twitter about Drew being re-signed, but apparently that’s not true based on what Drew and WWE have told people.
It was also reported by Fightful that Drew McIntyre’s WWE deal has less than five months left on it and it is set to expire before next year’s WrestleMania 40 event.
There are many other WWE superstars, including Becky Lynch, who have deals up in 2024.
It was just about a week ago when Fightful reported that WWE was using different tactics when it comes to negotiating new deals in this TKO Group era. That report noted that while there have been some negotiations, these have reportedly only taken place when talent has approached WWE for raises.
Drew McIntyre set for World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Crown Jewel
Even though WWE and Drew McIntyre have yet to agree to a new contract, he is being pushed heavily on television. At WWE Crown Jewel this Saturday, November 4th in Saudi Arabia, Drew will challenge Seth “Freakin” Rollins for Raw’s biggest prize – the World Heavyweight Championship.
