Top WWE Stars Are Allegedly Challenging Triple H’s Authority

A wrestling veteran believes Triple H may have lost his grip on WWE’s talent.

The discussion stemmed from CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ main event segment on the March 2 taping of Raw.

Just as the Original Tribal Chief was about to cut his promo, Punk made his way out and called Reigns out for his tweet after the Elimination Chamber match between Punk and Finn Balor.

Their back-and-forth exchange continued from a month ago, when Reigns picked The Second City Saint as his opponent at WrestleMania 42, claiming that he chose him because he hated him.

While addressing Punk by his real name, “Phil,” Reigns said that he was going to retire him at WWE WrestleMania, and after Punk is retired, he will be traded to NXT, where he will train the young wrestlers.

Punk took offense to his statement and said that he was going to bury Reigns next to his father, Sika, by beating him at the Show of Shows.

Many fans believe that the promo deflected from its original course with Punk taking a cheap shot at Reigns by bringing his late father into the conversation.

In sports entertainment, taking personal jibes is a way of getting under the skin of an opponent before a match, leading them to act irrationally.

Considering how respected Sika had been in the wrestling world and the respect that the Anao’i family commands in WWE, CM Punk’s attack on Roman Reigns took a deeply personal turn.

Speaking about the promo between the two superstars, former creative head writer Vince Russo claimed that it would carry repercussions under Vince McMahon.
