Top AEW Star Suffers The Same Fate As Cody Rhodes At Revolution 2026
The main event of AEW Revolution 2026 was one that the fans were waiting for all night, as the AEW World Championship was on the line in one of the most brutal matches in wrestling history.
MJF put his Triple B on the line against Hangman Adam Page in a Texas Death Match after the stipulation was forced onto the champion by Tony Khan, after MJF tried to deceive his way out of it.
However, this wasn’t the only stipulation of the match, as Hangman Page walked Cody Rhodes’ path before the event. He announced that he would never challenge for the AEW World Championship again if he failed to beat MJF tonight, just like Rhodes did during his time.
This declaration from the former World Champion made this match bigger in an instant, and all eyes were on the Cowboy. Both of them wrestled in an incredibly brutal and bloody match.
MJF broke a window pane in the middle of the ring, but was slammed onto it by Hangman Page. He then dragged Page through that glass before assaulting his face with a barbed wire wrapped around his own arm.

This left MJF with a bloodied face before he returned the favor and did the same things with Page as well. Both men were bleeding profusely for most of the match before MJF stuck a needle through Hangman’s mouth.
MJF tried to follow that up with a steel chair, but Hangman fought his way back in the match and brought a chair wrapped with barbed wire into the fight. However, it backfired on the Cowboy as MJF hit an Alabama Slam on Page onto the same chair.
The champion looked to end the match with a Heatseeker on Page, but the challenger caught him in position for a Deadeye and delivered it onto the barbed wire steel chair. Page then smashed the chair onto MJF’s back a couple of times to leave him writhing in pain.
MJF gathered himself and seized an opportunity to get his hands on that chair and threw it in Page’s face. He tried to hit a Heatseeker on the chair, but Page reversed it into a Deadeye into a table, which was set outside by the champion.

They both exchanged brutalities with each other, which included Page smashing two light tubes onto MJF, one on his back and another on his head. He followed it up by shoving a bunch of skewers in his head and hit a Buckshot Lariat for the win, but MJF got up just in time.
Both men gave it their all to win the match, including introducing a dog collar in the bout. After nothing seemed to separate the two, MJF’s Dyanmite Diamond Ring came to the rescue.
With the Dog Collar still on both of them, Page went to hit a Buckshot Lariat on MJF, but the champion punched him with the ring on his hand and proceeded to choke him out with the Dog Collar.
Page hit his head on the camera before falling to the floor and never got up before the ten count, and MJF retained his World Championship. He suffered the same fate as Cody Rhodes tonight, as he, too, will never be able to challenge for the AEW World Championship now.
