Tony Khan Gets An Open Invitation From Ex-WWE Figures; He Finally Responds
Tony Khan has agreed to go on a podcast with two former WWE talents who have not always been complimentary of AEW.
The Coach & Bro podcast features former WWE on-screen talent Jonathan Coachman, who worked for WWE as a backstage announcer, occasional wrestler, and authority figure during his first run with the company through the 2000s. After leaving WWE to work for ESPN for about a decade, Coach later returned in the late 2010s for a shorter run as an announcer.
Vince Russo is the “Bro” part of the podcast. Russo was the head WWE writer in the late 1990s in the Attitude Era and is credited by many legends for helping their careers. In October 1999, Russo left WWE for a less successful run in WCW. In the 2000s, Russo spent many years writing for TNA. Currently, Russo is a writer on JCW Lunacy.
On the Coach & Bro podcast, they are sometimes known for saying outlandish things and making bold predictions, like Russo constantly claiming that WWE will fire Triple H by year’s end. To their credit, Coach & Bro do have credibility as two men who have spent many years in the pro wrestling business, which is why they have an audience.
In a post on X, Coach remarked that Coach & Bro would love to have AEW Owner, CEO, GM & Head of Creative, Tony Khan, on their show.
We have an open invitation for @TonyKhanto come on our show. We had a great conversation today with one of his female stars Maya. If he came on shows like ours instead of podcasts of people will only ask questions they want to know instead of asking questions to make him think about how he is going about his business. Then maybe a few things would change.
I know this from my time in the WWE you can’t possibly have all of the ideas and the more good people you put around you normally the better any product is. Come on Tony. Any day.
Tony Khan Responds To Podcast Invitation And Praises Vince Russo
In response to Coach’s tweet, Tony Khan surprisingly accepted Coach’s offer while also praising Russo’s work as a writer for JCW Lunacy, which suggests Tony watches a lot of pro wrestling.
I would love to come on the show with you + @THEVinceRusso, Coach! I’ve been a fan of both of yours for many years!
Also I think that Vince is doing a tremendous job on @jcwlunacy, which I enjoy very much.

Of course, Tony also included the hashtags for AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision in his remarks. The man is a pro wrestling promoter after all.

Vince Russo responded in kind to Tony Khan, although he shockingly didn’t write the word “bro.”
Tony, it would be an honor—seriously. When can we do this? We’re LIVE on @Stadium at 11 am est on Thursdays.
Whenever it happens, the trio will likely promote it heavily, and it will certainly get some attention.
