Tony Khan has commented on the status of one AEW star who has not been seen for some time.
Former TNT Champion Wardlow has not been seen on AEW television since he lost that title to Luchasaurus on the first episode of Collision in June 2023.
Mr. Mayhem had grown to be one of the company’s most popular stars by the spring of 2022 but his massive Double Or Nothing destruction of his former partner MJF was completely overshadowed by the behind-the-scenes situation regarding MJF that led to him missing several months of action.
Speaking on the pre-WrestleDream media call, Tony Khan was asked for any information regarding Wardlow’s status in the company and said that he’s still very much a part of AEW:
“Wardlow is a great star for us. He’s been one of the greatest TNT Champions and a great star. I’m a very big fan of Wardlow and he will surely be back on AEW TV when the time is right and he’s still very much a part of what we’re doing here.”
Tony Khan leaves the door open for another return
The AEW President was also asked if fans can expect WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam to grace an AEW ring again in the future following his successful partnership with HOOK against Matt Menard and Angelo Parker. Tony Khan noted that he’s happy for the star to return again if it makes sense for all involved.
