The landscape in WWE NXT changed completely following WrestleMania 42, after some stalwarts of the Black and Silver brand were called up to the main roster and replaced by newer and younger stars.

The influx of new stars on WWE NXT has seen some of them shoot straight for the gold, with multiple new signings looking to go after the NXT Championship in particular.

The current champion, Tony D’Angelo, has a huge target on his back, and he’s being eyed by challengers left, right, and center. However, it seems like in all the commotion, he’s found a temporary ally as well.

Kam Hendrix receives a huge opportunity on WWE NXT

Former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Naraku, who was formerly known as EVIL during his time in Japan, immediately confronted Tony D’Angelo on his debut and made his intentions known.

He even stated last week that he intends to come after the NXT Title, but he revealed tonight that till it happens, he will remain his protector. It seems like Naraku will be in Tony’s corner next week, whether the champion wants it or not.

Apart from Naraku, newer recruits like Kam Hendrix and Mason Rook are also eyeing a shot at D’Angelo and, following his pin over Myles Borne last week, Hendrix earned the opportunity to face Tony D’Angelo for the championship next week.
