Tony D’Angelo Set For First NXT Title Defense Next Week
NXT Interim General Manager, Robert Stone, announced a two-week television special for the black and silver promotion on tonight’s show, which will kick off from next week’s show.
NXT Revenge, as the special will be known, will see multiple major title and grudge matches take place on the show. Two title matches were announced for the next two weeks, with Lola Vice defending her title next week.
WWE Speed Champion set to be crowned on Week 2 of Revenge, while next week’s show will see another major title defense as Tony D’Angelo gears up for his first title defense.
Ethan Page attacked the NXT Champion during their match tonight
He had a busy night tonight as he made his first appearance as champion on tonight’s show. However, he got caught up in a brawl between DarkState and all of the Stand and Deliver main eventers, including himself.
They faced each other in an 8-man tag team match that D’Angelo almost won for his team, before being booted to the head by his own teammate, Ethan Page. Tony won the match but attacked Page afterwards to settle the score.
Despite attacking him after the match, D’Angelo wasn’t satisfied with what happened and he spoke to Robert Stone. The champ asked Stone to give him Page and he announced later on the show that D’Angelo will defend his title against Ethan Page next week.
