TKO May Have A Plan To Fire Triple H, Says WWE Veteran
For more than a year, there have been reports about the existence of a power struggle within WWE.
While Triple H took over the creative reins from Vince McMahon, he is not a part of the TKO Group, which owns the Stamford promotion. However, some of the prominent names among its Board of Directors include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Nick Khan, and Ari Emanuel.
WWE has also been embroiled in a lawsuit surrounding its merger with UFC, which was filed by some of its shareholders, who claimed that the merger was aimed at bringing back the disgraced boss Vince McMahon back to power.
Recent court documents shared in the Delaware Court of Chancery revealed Triple H’s constant run-ins with McMahon, who, despite having quit the company, was directing creative decisions.
The documents also highlighted his ongoing issues with Ari Emanuel, who is the CEO and executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings. Elsewhere, wrestling media outlets have claimed that the WWE CCO does not see eye-to-eye with The Rock either.
During the latest episode of the Coach & Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo responded to a viewer’s question, who claimed that The Rock could fire Triple H and take control of the Stamford promotion.
In response, the hosts argued that it could not be executed overnight, but TKO might have a plan for it.
Coach: How do I explain this, Vince? You can’t just walk in and throw Triple H out. It’d be a whole mess. So, they have to be strategic, and they have to show that it’s not working with him, am I right?
Russo: Oh, yeah. This ain’t an overnight process. And I would be shocked, though, if there is not a plan in place. I would be shocked because they’re reading the same things we’re reading over the weekend. [58:24 onward]
Triple H Confirms Brock Lesnar’s Retirement
Over the weekend, WWE was involved in another mess surrounding Brock Lesnar, who decided to retire following his defeat to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42.
Several reports claim that Lesnar throwing an X sign with his arms and his removal of gloves and shoes were unscripted, completely throwing off the creative direction. In fact, The Beast Incarnate was scheduled for an appearance on the following Raw episode as well.
Speaking on the SportsCenter, Triple H discussed Lesnar’s actions inside the squared circle, seemingly confirming that the 48-year-old had indeed retired.
Well, it certainly seemed that way. Brock is not a walk back through the curtain and have a long conversation guy. Brock is a walk back through the curtain, very angry, go to his bus, and that is the end of it. So there wasn’t a discussion afterward. They see Brock as this hulking brute, The Beast, right? But there comes a point when somebody comes along that’s bigger and better and pushes you to a place you can’t come back from.
Lesnar, meanwhile, has yet to provide an official word on his retirement, which is unlikely to come considering his lack of online/media activity.
Many also believed that there were plans for him to retire at SummerSlam later this year, scheduled in his home of Minneapolis, Minnesota, against Gunther.
