Tiffany Stratton’s Next WWE Women’s Title Match Announced
The next time Tiffany Stratton defends the WWE Women’s Title, she’ll be facing a familiar opponent.
When Tiffany Stratton defended the WWE Women’s Title against Jade Cargill at SummerSlam, it was a match that had some controversy.
Late in the match, Jade hit the Jaded slam on Stratton, but when Jade covered, she over-rotated, and Stratton’s foot was on the ropes to stop the referee’s count. It was done in a way to make it look like it was a flukey two count because Stratton didn’t put her foot on the ropes intentionally – it was just placed there by Jade.
There was some confusion about the spot by some fans online because they may have thought it was a botch. However, it was not a botch by the women – it’s what they were supposed to do to give Stratton a kickout without powering out for two.
Since the match happened, Jade Cargill has been demanding a rematch against Tiffany Stratton. And now, that rematch is happening over a month after their SummerSlam clash.
During the WWE SmackDown broadcast in Chicago, it was announced that Tiffany Stratton will defend the WWE Women’s Title against Jade Cargill on the September 12th edition of SmackDown.
Tiffany Stratton, who has been champion for over eight months, was interviewed on SmackDown and said that Jade loves to run her mouth. Stratton said that the talk ends next week. Stratton added that she’s going to stick her foot up Jade’s…eye of the storm.
Jade Cargill was watching on a TV backstage. Nia Jax walked in, saying that Cargill didn’t deserve a title shot. Jade said that when she wins the Women’s Title, then maybe Jax can challenge her for the title, but she told Jax to get out of her face tonight.
Tiffany Stratton Was Lonely When She Signed With WWE
Considering that Tiffany Stratton has been wrestling for under five years, it’s amazing to see how far she has come in a short time.
While reflecting on her early days in WWE, Tiffany Stratton admitted that it was difficult for her at first.
“It was lonely. It was very lonely at first because I was the only girl in my signing group. So, for the longest time, I didn’t really have any girlfriends.
And then 4 weeks later, thankfully another group came. It was the Vegas group, and Nikita Lyons was in it. Maxxine Dupri was in it. Jakara Jackson, and thankfully, they came along and we all became friends, and I wasn’t alone anymore. So, it was very lonely at first, but it got better.”
