Tiffany Stratton Announced For Huge Title Match On 3/27 WWE SmackDown

Tiffany Stratton is going for gold on WWE SmackDown.

The former WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has her eyes on gold, but it’s not on the championship she once held on the SmackDown brand.

On the March 13th edition of WWE SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton defeated Women’s US Champion Giulia’s ally Kiana James clean in under 10 minutes.

One week later, on the March 20th episode of SmackDown, Giulia wasn’t happy with James about losing to Stratton. James tried to reassure Giulia that it would be okay. Chelsea Green arrived in a wheelchair with Alba Fyre. Green said they can work together against Tiffany, but Giulia said she didn’t need any help from Green.

Later on SmackDown, it was announced that Giulia would defend the Women’s US Title against Stratton on the March 27th edition of SmackDown.

The Giulia/Stratton match for the Women’s US Title has been rumored for WrestleMania 42 for several weeks, so it will be interesting to see whether that’s still the plan or has changed.

Tiffany Stratton Welcomed WWE Break After Long Title Reign

In 2025, Tiffany Stratton had a breakout year, holding the WWE Women’s Title for an incredible 302 days. After losing the Women’s Title to November, Stratton was given nearly three months off to rest an injury before returning at the Royal Rumble at the end of January.

Stratton explained that taking that break was a good thing for her.

“Oh, yeah. It was so good for my mental and my physical. Obviously being a pro wrestler, you have so many just like little injuries here and there. So, I got to heal all of those.

And coming off of such a long title reign, I was the champion for, I believe, 302 days. That’s a long time. That’s almost a full year of just go, go, go, go, go. Whenever they expect you, you have to be there. Media appearances, wrestling. It was a lot the past couple of years or the past two years I’ve been on the main roster and just go, go, go. I didn’t have one Friday off. I was on TV every single week.”

That time off allowed Stratton to slow down a bit and enjoy her time at home.

“So to just kind of slow down and, you know, I had just bought a house so I got to kind of be in my house, be in my own space. I just bought a dog so I was spending a lot of time with my dog. I live with my best friend. We have four dogs together. So it was just so amazing for my mentality and also my physical as well.”

The three matches that WWE is advertising for SmackDown on March 27th are:

* Women’s United States Championship: Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton

* Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs. The Bella Twins

There will likely be more matches and segments announced during the week.
