Thekla Stands Tall After Hard-Fought AEW Title Defense on Dynamite
A huge night of action was in store for AEW fans tonight as this week’s edition of Dynamite promised a total of three World Championship matches on the card.
The night kicked off with MJF’s defense of the AEW World Championship as he defeated Kevin Knight in a hard-fought affair. As the night progressed, the World Trios Championship was also announced to be defended in the main event.
The penultimate match of the show saw the AEW Women’s World Champion, Thekla, defend her title against former champion, Thunder Rosa, in her adopted home of Texas.

The match was off to a fast start as Rosa looked to take the advantage in the match, but the Toxic Spider quickly turned the tide and took control of the match herself.
The champion ragdolled Rosa throughout the ring as he enjoyed dominating her challenger. Despite Rosa’s attempts to fight back, Thekla remained in control of the match.

She even had the match won after she hit Thunder Rosa with a Spear, but broke the pin herself before the three-count. Rosa almost made her pay for that with a nearfall, but Thekla retained her title.
She came back strong and hit another Spear to Rosa and followed that up with two Stomps to pin the former World Champion and retain her championship.
