How The Undertaker Helped WWE Legend Early In Career

The Undertaker has been a role model for many WWE talents over the decades and has helped numerous young stars shape their careers.

Speaking on a recent episode of Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, WWE legend The Miz shared how The Deadman helped him early in his career.

Miz revealed that when he was still a rookie in WWE, Chris Benoit, the locker-room leader at the time, banned him from the locker room after he was caught eating fried chicken over a veteran’s bag, which was seen as a major sign of disrespect.

The Undertaker Lifted Miz’s Locker Room Ban

Traditionally, only the person who issued a locker-room ban could lift it. However, after Benoit left the company (he passed away in 2007), Miz was left in limbo for several months with no way back in.

Eventually, Miz approached The Undertaker, the ultimate authority in the locker room, and explained his situation. After hearing that the ban was over a piece of chicken, The Undertaker stepped in and lifted it, allowing Miz to return to the locker room.

Miz said:

I would find places to go, and then the person (Chris Benoit) told me, ‘You can come in when I tell you can come in.’ Something happened to that person, and that person went away, so I had no way of getting back in.

“So I was like, ‘Oh, man.’ So I went to the person I ate the chicken over (his bag), and I was like, ‘How do I get back in the locker room?’ He was like, ‘You’re still out of the locker room? I had no idea, man. You should talk to Taker.’

I go (to the Undertaker), ‘I’ve been kicked out of the locker room.’ [Oh, you have? What did you get kicked out for?] I ate a piece of chicken over a person’s (bag). [Oh, you did? I’ll get back to you on that.]

And then I was like, ‘Ah, man.’ So I waited till the end, and then I think you probably forgot. But I walked up and said, ‘Do you think I can come in the locker room?’ and you were like, ‘You’re back in, kid.’ I was like, (sighs in relief).
