The Rock Booed Amid WWE Hiatus
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson got disrespected in a major way at a non-WWE show.
AEW Double or Nothing 2026 is in the history books, and it was packed with explosive action from top to bottom. Multiple new champions were crowned, including MJF, who dethroned Darby Allin for the AEW World Title in the main event.
However, it was not the only notable incident involving MJF at the pay-per-view.
WWE Hall of Famer debuts at AEW Double or Nothing
The Double or Nothing Pre-Show saw former WWE champion Mick Foley finally make his All Elite Wrestling debut. He addressed the Darby Allin vs. MJF match, among other things, during an in-ring promo and stated that Allin would pick up the win.
MJF was not a fan of Foley’s prediction and rushed out to the squared circle to confront the Hardcore Legend. The two had a verbal back-and-forth before The Devil claimed that all people like Darby Allin and Mick Foley do is lose. Foley came back with a scathing response and even namedropped The Rock.
I’m going to give you a little piece of advice and a little piece of history, which is, yes, I lost a lot of matches. There’s a young man named Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who might recall a couple of victories I had as well. But here’s where you and I differ. In none of those matches did Mick Foley have a match that ended in 2 minutes and 15 seconds. That’s not a loss, that’s a disgrace.”
The very mention of The Rock garnered massive booes from the fans in attendance at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, as can be seen in the clip below:

The interaction between MJF and Mick Foley ended on a sour note for the WWE Hall of Famer. An unhappy MJF hit a low blow on Foley before Darby Allin eventually forced him to retreat. Mick Foley then gave a pep talk to Allin, but sadly for the duo, MJF had the last laugh at Double or Nothing as he walked away with his Triple B.
Could Mick Foley get involved in a feud with MJF in AEW somewhere down the line? Only time will tell.
