A new AEW World Champion has been crowned at the end of the Double or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view.

On an episode of Dynamite last month, Darby Allin shocked everyone by squashing MJF in over two minutes to capture the AEW World Championship. Since winning the title, Darby has been the epitome of a fighting champion, as he has been successfully defending his World title week after week.

MJF also challenged Darby Allin for a rematch for the AEW World title recently, and Darby accepted on the condition that Max will be shaved bald if he lost. The rematch was set to take place at the Double or Nothing 2026 PLE.

The new AEW World Champion has officially been crowned

In the main event of AEW Double or Nothing 2026, MJF and Darby Allin put on a brutal and hard-hitting encounter. At multiple points during the match, it seemed like Darby was seriously hurt, but he got back up every time. However, Darby failed to retain his title at the end, as MJF secured the All Elite Wrestling World title for the third time in his career.

It will be interesting to see what’s next for MJF as the new World Champion.
