There was some very sad news in the entertainment world on November 19th when it was reported that actor Jason David Frank passed away by suicide, according to TMZ. Frank was 49 years old.

Frank was known for portraying Tommy Oliver on the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers television show in the 1990s along with other variations including animated shows. On the show, Frank portrayed the Green and White Ranger.

Many people grew up watching Frank (sometimes known as JDF to his fans) because the Power Rangers brand was so popular. For many years, Frank also appeared at various conventions where he met fans, who were excited to see one of their TV heroes in person.

Many current WWE superstars are at an age now where they grew up as Power Rangers fans, including The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

After Frank passed away, Woods posted a video with JDF talking about being a superhero and role model for fans that looked up to him.

In the past, The New Day have worn Power Rangers-style attire on television because they are known for creative outfits while acknowledging their fandom of certain things, such as the Power Rangers.

At the WWE Live Event in Portland, Maine on Sunday, November 27th, The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston wore white and green Power Ranger outfits in tribute to Frank. Woods tweeted this.

At the live event, The New Day defeated Maximum Male Models in a tag team match.
