The Bella Twins Make Bold Declaration About Women’s Matches At WWE WrestleMania
The Bella Twins want to see women represented even more at a major WWE show like WrestleMania.
As WWE Hall of Famers, The Bella Twins duo of Nikki & Brie have done a lot in their WWE careers. However, they never won the Women’s Tag Team Titles together, partly because the titles didn’t exist while the Bellas were actively on the WWE roster.
Away from the ring, Brie has given birth twice, and Nikki has a son of her own, so they are not just competing in a WWE ring for themselves, but also for their families.
This past Friday on WWE SmackDown, The Bella Twins challenged the Irresistible Forces team of Nia Jax & Lash Legend for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. While the Bellas came close to winning the match, the team of Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss ruined things by going after the champions, so it was a disqualification finish.
All of the chaos led to WWE announcing that The Bella Twins will face Flair and Bliss on next week’s SmackDown episode on March 27th.
The Bella Twins Want To See More Women’s Matches At WrestleMania
Regarding WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, it seems like the chaos involving the women’s tag teams will likely lead to a triple threat tag team match, or even more than a triple threat, because there are teams on Raw going after the Women’s Tag Team Titles as well.
While speaking on their The Nikki & Brie Show podcast with former Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton as a guest, the Hall of Fame sisters discussed how many women’s matches take place at WrestleMania.
Stratton: “I fully believe one day, we’re gonna have another women’s main event at WrestleMania. So, us women, we all need to come together. We need to make that happen.”
Brie: “For sure. Well, all the women have been killing it lately so, if it’s not happening this ‘Mania, I’ll be shocked and I hope too that there’s just as many –”
Nikki: “And a lot more female matches. I feel like there should be three a night.”
Brie: “If not four.”
Nikki: “Especially with added time from ESPN.”
Brie: “So we need to see a lot of women on WrestleMania. For sure.”
WrestleMania 42 will STREAM LIVE Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT on ESPN in the United States and Netflix everywhere else.
