Surprising AEW Match To Main Event Double Or Nothing

AEW fans know anarchy is coming to Double Or Nothing so they might be surprised which match was confirmed as the PPV’s main event.

At Dynamite Beach Break, Jon Moxley put his AEW World Title on the line against Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage match. Moxley retained his title thanks to help from former NJPW star Gabe Kidd, while Powerhouse Hobbs, Willow Nightingale, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, Wheeler Yuta, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, and Speedball Mike Bailey were all involved in the post-match carnage.

Eventually, Joe and Omega found themselves trapped in the cage with the Death Riders and The Bucks, who laid the pair out. That then brought out Swerve Strickland, who scaled the cage and wiped out everyone still standing. The Young Bucks and the Death Riders cleared the ring before Strickland laid down the challenge for Anarchy In The Arena. It didn’t take long for the match to be made official, and on the May 21 edition of Dynamite, the 12 participants for the wild match were confirmed.

However, that match won’t be the Double Or Nothing main event.

AEW Makes Huge Singles Match The Double Or Nothing Main Event

It won’t even be a title match that will headline the event, but it is one that will have huge title implications moving forward. On Dynamite in Albuquerque, the finalists in the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Will Ospreay and Hangman Adam Page, had their last face-to-face before their Double Or Nothing bout.

Ospreay noted that he wanted their match to headline Double Or Nothing, and he was confident that they could follow other matches such as Anarchy In The Arena. The two stars shared a beer in respect before it was later confirmed that they would indeed main event the show. The winner of that bout will challenge for the AEW World Championship at All In Texas.
