Sunny To Stand Trial On DUI Charges

Sunny Tammy Sytch

WWE Hall of Famer Sunny is set to stand trial in September.

Sunny – real name Tammy Sytch – was arrested in March 2022 in Ormond Beach, Florida after crashing into a static vehicle whilst seemingly intoxicated. The accident caused the death of 75-year-old Julian Lasseter, leading Sytch to be charged with DUI manslaughter.

According to a report from PWInsider, Sytch is slated to stand trial on the week of September 18th and is facing a total of nine charges. As well as the DUI manslaughter charge (a felony in the third degree), these include one count of causing death while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license (a felony in the third degree), four counts of DUI causing injury to a person, and three counts of DUI causing damage to property.

If convicted, the DUI Manslaughter charge alone could carry a sentence of up to 30 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines. Sytch pled not guilty to all nine charges in June 2022.

Sunny remains in jail ahead of her trial

Soon after her arrest, a bond of $225,500 was paid for Sytch to be released on bail. However, bail was revoked days after it was granted, with Claire Metz of WESH 2 reporting that Judge Karen Foxman said there was no way to reasonably keep the public safe than “complete bond revocation.” This means that Sytch will remain in jail until her trial takes place.

Ahead of the trial, depositions will take place through the summer, while there will be a sounding of the docket against Sytch on August 16th, and jury selection will take place on September 15th.
