The legendary “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has spoken about the possibility of having another match in a WWE ring.

When WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin competed in his final match as a full-time WWE superstar at WrestleMania 19 in 2003, there was no retirement ceremony like John Cena or AJ Styles got.

The reality was that when Austin retired at WrestleMania 19, only a few people, like his opponent, The Rock, Vince McMahon, and Jim Ross, knew, while everyone else was in the dark about it. Austin called it a career at the age of 38 because of serious back and neck injuries.

Surprisingly, Steve Austin wrestled one more time 19 years later at WrestleMania 38 when he defeated Kevin Owens in the WrestleMania Saturday main event. It was promoted as a talk-show segment, the KO Show, that ended up becoming a match.

Even though Stone Cold is 61, fans keep up with his farm life and racing life on Instagram and see that he remains in great shape. However, Austin told Busted Open Radio on Austin 3:16 Day that one more match isn’t likely for him.

“I still get asked about having a match every here and there and when I had that match with Kevin Owens a couple of years ago, they would have sent me down a ring so I could have got some timing and some wind and a lot of things so I could have a better match with Kevin Owens, but, yeah, and I’m done.

I mean, I could go out and do something. I’m not lobbying to do that. I guess it’s cool that people would still — and there’s a lot of people that don’t — so, the fact that people are still like, ‘Hey man, it would be cool to see him do something,’ I guess it’s an honor.

I was never the chosen one. If you line me up against the wall with all the other WWE superstars at the time, I was 6’1 — before I was 6’2 — before I got dropped on my head a bunch, and with that straggly ass blonde hair I had. I was never the chosen one that, hey man, this guy’s gonna lead the industry one of these days. Cut off my hair, and grew a goatee, and it turned into something so, I was just happy the way it happened and glad that people remember me.”

Steve Austin Would Like To Have More WWE Moments, But Not A Match

Even though Steve Austin won’t be at WWE Monday Night Raw on 3/16, he wants fans to keep supporting the business. Austin also said he would be open to more WWE moments, but his days of having matches are over.

“It’d be to go back for one of those moments. Not a match itch… I got a left knee replacement a little over a year ago and God dang, my leg feels good. I’m glad I got it done. But, yeah, I get the itch for certain moments but, to try to do a match? No.”

Sh*t, line ‘em up and let me Stun ‘em. All those guys that are selling the tickets now, put ‘em in a line, f**k ‘em.” (laughs)

I don’t know. It’s not something that I think about. I’m so far gone. I’m happy that 3:16 Day is here and lasts with wrestling fans. I’m happy for the career I had but, in my current life, I don’t think about (it).”

Could Stone Cold have another WWE moment at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas? It’s possible because Steve Austin will be appearing at WWE World to meet the fans, so he’ll be in town, and it could lead to one more memorable WrestleMania appearance.
