Stephanie McMahon recently opened up about the major rule she broke with her WWE Hall of Fame induction.

Stephanie McMahon, who was formerly CEO and Chairwoman of WWE, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

McMahon elevated the company by playing a heel and the foil to many top stars in the company’s Attitude Era in the 1990s. Her confidence and charisma led to a massive fan following for her work in the ring as a character and for her as a person.

She hosts a WWE-associated podcast called What’s Your Story? where she interviews wrestlers of the past and present. She had Paige (Saraya-Jade Bevis) on her show’s latest episode, and, at one point during the interview, revealed something that not many in the WWE Universe might be aware of.

Stephanie McMahon says that she and the entire McMahon family were never supposed to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, as their characters were there to put the other talent over.

Well, the McMahons were never supposed to be in the Hall of Fame, as I was always brought up. You know, we were characters that were intentionally designed to get other talent over. So it was never about us. And that’s just sort of like ingrained in my brain.

Stephanie McMahon, of course, had this rule broken when she was announced as an inductee in the Hall of Fame class of 2026.

Her induction made her the second member of the McMahon family to receive the honor, following her grandfather, Vincent J. McMahon, who was posthumously inducted in 1996.

Stephanie’s three daughters joined her mother, Linda McMahon, to help induct her during the ceremony.

Paige Praises Stephanie McMahon

Paige, who returned to WWE at WrestleMania 42, much to the delight of WWE fans, cites McMahon as her inspiration. She tells McMahon in the interview that she is an inspiration for women or men who have had the opportunity to work with her.

You’ve done so much in your career. Like, you’re very inspiring for women and anyone that’s worked, any woman or man, but just speaking from a woman’s perspective here, any woman that’s worked with you have only ever said positive things.

Paige is now one half of the women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Brie Bella, a belt that she won after replacing Brie’s twin sister, an injured Nikki Bella, for the fatal four-way tag team bout at WrestleMania 42.

Her return drew a huge pop from the crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the event took place.
