Stephanie McMahon Shocked By Former WWE Star’s Real Insults

Stephanie McMahon was stunned by what she heard during a promo on Raw.

Christy Hemme was the winner of the first WWE Diva Search in 2004, which was voted on by the WWE fans. Other women in that first Diva Search included WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool and Maria Kanellis, who had long careers in pro wrestling.

During a “Diss the Diva” Diva Search segment on Raw, Hemme and the other women said some nasty things to Carmella DeCesare, who was the runner-up in the Diva Search. That’s not the same Carmella who became a WWE superstar in the 2010s.

At the time, WWE Hall of Famer Stephanie McMahon worked behind the scenes in WWE as part of the creative team under her father, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

While WWE usually scripted promos by this point in the early 2000s, Christy Hemme told WrestlingNewsco that her remarks trashing Carmella were not scripted, and they certainly stunned Stephanie McMahon as well.

“First of all, none of it was scripted. And even the thing, I can’t even repeat what I said. But when I came backstage, I just remember Stephanie McMahon going, ‘Where did you hear that from?!’ Like they just didn’t expect it to come out of my mouth, right?

None of it was scripted, and it was shocking. And I remember Carmella was really hurt. Like really hurt because I remember we all chose her. And it wasn’t intentional. It wasn’t like the rest of us said, ‘Let’s throw a bunch of insults at Carmella.’ It just happened that way. And I really did feel really bad afterwards because it did hurt her. And I remember apologizing to her sincerely.” (H/T Wrestlingnewsco)

Stephanie McMahon Was Worried About Being Exposed On WWE TV

Christy Hemme had that forgettable moment on WWE TV in 2004, but Stephanie McMahon has had her own raunchy moments as well.

On a recent episode of her podcast, Stephanie McMahon recalled a time when her husband Triple H was about to put her through a table and she knew her boobs were fully exposed. While recalling that moment, Stephanie was grateful that social media wasn’t around in the early 2000s.

“I was staring at my own naked boobs out there… thank God people didn’t really see because I was all bent over. But if social media [was around]—oh, yeah.”
