Stephanie McMahon’s controversial comment was recently revisited on a podcast.

2025 was a year of introspection for WWE, at least in terms of ticket pricing and sales. The promotion experimented with setting higher prices, especially for premium live events and special TV tapings.

Depending on the magnanimity of the show, the tickets sold out instantly, while some struggled and saw last-minute price drops, leading to some fans snatching up lucrative deals.

During a recent episode of The Coach & Bro podcast, Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo addressed a few comments from their subscribers.

The user referenced the 2025 Elimination Chamber, which apparently struggled to sell tickets, asking if they brought in The Rock just so they could sell the tickets.

This led to Russo revisiting a controversial comment by Stephanie McMahon, who promoted a VPN service during one of her podcasts.

Her comments caused a furor, especially due to WWE’s recently-signed multi-billion-dollar deal with ESPN for streaming PLEs on its platform in the United States. Her comment also came at a time when both conglomerates were aggressively promoting Wrestlepalooza as the first event on ESPN.

And we laughed when she…why would Stephanie McMahon even…why do you make a statement like that when it is blatant? You guys are literally going show to show…why would you make a statement like that that you know is ridiculous? [44:02 onwards]

Stephanie McMahon To Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

Ironically, it was at the Wrestlepalooza PLE, where Stephanie McMahon learnt that she would be inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2026.

The news was broken to her during a dedicated segment where The Undertaker appeared in his American Badass persona, riding his bike, which he parked near Stephanie before making the special announcement.

McMahon made her official debut as part of a storyline in 1999, where Vince McMahon was feuding with The Deadman.

During her stint in the company, she wore multiple hats, including those of an Executive Vice President, Chief Brand Officer, and co-Chairwoman & CEO. She resigned from the promotion in 2023.
