Stephanie McMahon Credited With Creating Memorable WWE Superstar Entrance
A former WWE superstar has revealed that Stephanie McMahon deserves a lot of credit for coming up with his famous entrance.
John Morrison is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion who went through numerous name changes and gimmicks throughout his career as a pro wrestler. Currently known as Johnny TV in AEW, John had his most success using the Morrison name.
During Morrison’s main run in WWE in the mid-to-late 2000s, WWE Hall of Famer Stephanie McMahon, under her father, Vince McMahon, ran the creative team and played a key role in the careers of many wrestlers.
In an interview with Off The Ropes, the former John Morrison talked about the slo-motion entrance he had as John Morrison and credited Stephanie McMahon for helping the idea make it to television.
“That was mostly Stephanie (McMahon) actually. We were having a conversation about entrance ideas and I had brought up wanting to have a more cinematic vibe to the entrance, and man, I think I’d talked about trying to use a phantom camera that shoots — it’d shoot almost 100,000 frames per second so if you see those water drops like slowly dropping, I thought about doing something like that.
I thought about a cinema treatment but Goldust had kind of already done that and then she just kind of put together in her head, like, ‘Why don’t we just go from regular speed to slow-mo, and then there will be a timelapse, and then you can walk out,’ and I’m actually really glad that she said that and it was her idea because when she thought of it, it happened very quickly. (laughs) That’s the secret to ideas.” (h/T Fightful)
Stephanie McMahon Hated The Nickname That Paul Heyman Gave Her
When Stephanie McMahon was performing as a WWE superstar in 2001, and Paul Heyman was on commentary, the Wise Man called her the “Billion Dollar Princess,” a nickname that stuck.
According to a recent social media post by Paul Heyman, Stephanie McMahon hated that “Billion Dollar Princess” nickname.
Just catching up on a lot of social media today.
This one popped me huge. Three things to notice.
(1) Man, I am not only cute, I’m the best damn commentator that has ever sat at the desk.
(2) @JRsBBQ says “I don’t know what I did to deserve this.” Yes you do. YES YOU DO! And it started with #WCWNewYork
(3) First people I commented on? @TripleH and @StephMcMahon.
Funny note – Steph HATED me called her the Billion Dollar Princess. Absolutely despised the monicker.
But rest assured, she got even with me for it!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
