WWE and ECW great Tommy Dreamer recently announced his departure from Total Nonstop Action.

Of late, TNA has seen multiple talents and members of creative staff request their release, which was granted. Like the World Wrestling Entertainment, TNA, too, is undergoing a roster shake-up.

Over the last several days, names such as Steve Maclin, Myla Grace, Sami Callihan, and Tessa Blanchard have left the Nashville company.

Blanchard’s departure has been one of the high-profile ones, with her previously serving as a one-time Impact Knockouts Champion and Impact Worlds Champion. It was also her second run in the promotion, which began in December 2024.

While it was being speculated that CMLL asked her to choose between them and TNA, Blanchard revealed that it was actually the other way around, and she ended up choosing the Mexican promotion.

Elsewhere, while speaking on Busted Open Radio, former WWE Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer said that he had parted ways with TNA, admitting that he enjoyed his time there and did not carry any ill-will towards anyone.

All relationships come to an end. I had a great conversation with Carlos Silva. Me and TNA are no longer in a relationship. We mutually agreed to part ways. It’s hard. I’ve given so much of my life to that company. I don’t have any ill will or malice.

I wanted to survive and be the best I can be. It was a 24 hour job and I had it for ten years. Everything comes to an end. I know I’ll be okay. I hope TNA will be okay. There are no issues or malice. At this time, we just need to take a break.

TNA Issues Statement After Releasing WWE Legend And Other Talents

Amid the roster shake-up, TNA fans couldn’t help but speculate about the reason behind the latest departures. The promotion, too, did not immediately release an official statement.

A press release came from the company on Wednesday, where it described the decision as part of a “workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability.”

Here’s what the press release read:

TNA Wrestling today announced a workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability.

TNA’s creative leadership team will see an immediate shift. Tommy Dreamer, who has worked in TNA’s Creative and Talent Relations Departments, is leaving the company as TNA and Dreamer mutually agreed to part ways.

TNA Wrestling also has come to terms on the release of Tessa Blanchard.

Since January 2019, former WWE champion Tommy Dreamer has been working as a member of the creative team. His departure now leaves a spot open that needs to be filled quickly.

Reportedly, TNA is wasting no time and has already contemplated bringing Brian “Road Dogg” James on board. Road Dogg left WWE in March 2026, but is still signed with the company on a Legends contract.
