Shocking!!! Former Rival Helps Cody Rhodes Reclaim Undisputed WWE Championship
A huge night of Friday Night SmackDown was headlined by the huge Undisputed WWE Championship clash between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes, as announced by Nick Aldis on the night of Elimination Chamber.
These two wrestlers have been at each other’s throats since Wrestlepalooza in September last year and have developed a massive hatred towards one another.
McIntyre defeated Cody for the title in a Three Stages of Hell match in January earlier this year, which ensured Cody couldn’t challenge for the belt again. However, his repeated interferences in Cody’s matches and clear disobedience of Nick Aldis’ orders led to their match tonight.
The two rivals put on another brutal and hard-hitting match on Friday Night SmackDown tonight, which saw both of them push the other to their limits. Drew targeted Cody’s left arm while Rhodes went after McIntyre’s left knee.

Rhodes took the champion out with a suicide dive on the outside before setting him up for a CrossRhodes on the announce table, but it gave way before the move could be executed.
Drew took advantage of the situation as he then put Cody through a table with a powerbomb, and followed that with a CrossRhodes to him, but the challenger kicked out at two. Cody responded with a Claymore to Drew, but couldn’t get the win either.
Cody tried to take Drew out with a Disaster Kick, but hit the referee instead. He then performed a CrossRhodes on Drew, but no referee was present in the ring.

McIntyre then hit a Claymore to Cody just before the second referee came in, but Cody kicked out at the last second. He then knocked out the second referee before attempting to use a steel chair on Cody.
Jacob Fatu made his presence known in the match once again and snatched the chair from Drew before Cody hit him with a Cody Cutter from the top rope and followed it up with the CrossRhodes to become the Undisputed WWE Champion once again.
