A WWE Premium Live Event in Ireland is something that hasn’t happened yet, but future WWE Hall of Famer Sheamus really wants to see it happen while also mentioning some of the company’s other big Irish wrestling stars.

The WWE Clash at the Castle event on September 3rd in Cardiff, Wales was a huge success based on having a crowd of over 62,000 fans in attendance along with several great matches.

Sheamus was a big part of the WWE Clash event as he battled Gunther in an outstanding match that was critically acclaimed for how amazing it was. It was called a WWE match of the year contender in our TJR review of the show. Sheamus tried his best to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time, but a back injury slowed him down, so Gunther picked up the win after a Powerbomb followed by a hard lariat.

After the match was over and Gunther made his way to the back, Sheamus was alone in the ring. The Irishman was given a huge standing ovation from the crowd that appreciated the effort. Even though Sheamus was a heel for many years in WWE, it appeared that this was part of a face turn that continued on the September 9th edition of Smackdown. Sheamus and his Brawling Brutes mates Butch & Ridge Holland were cheered by the crowd.

While touting the success of Clash at the Castle, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H asked where should the company go next? That led to Sheamus replying with an idea to hold a major show in Dublin, Ireland.

Croke Park in Dublin is the home to the Gaelic Athletic Association. The massive stadium is known for hosting over 80,000 fans for the All-Ireland football and hurling championship finals.
