One injured WWE NXT star is making progress in her recovery, but isn’t likely to return to the ring any time soon according to Shawn Michaels.

Wendy Choo hasn’t been seen on NXT television since being written off with an attack from a mystery assailant, later revealed to be Blair Davenport. In reality, the star was sidelined with an injury after last competing on the May 15th episode of NXT Level Up. On that occasion, Choo teamed with Kelani Jordan to defeat the team of Elektra Lopez and Lola Vice.

Speaking on a media call ahead of Great American Bash, NXT head Shawn Michaels provided an update on Choo’s injury status, stating that while she’s coming along, the company wants to make sure she doesn’t return to the ring before she’s ready.

“Still coming along. Still rehabbing her injuries. Hopefully she will be back soon. We’re very good, as is our talent, very good about making sure they are 100% ready to go. My understanding is everything is progressing well, but she’s still a ways off before she will be seen in action.”
