Seth Rollins To Face Mystery Opponent At WrestleMania

Seth Rollins raises arms on entrance ramp

WWE has confirmed that Seth Rollins will face a mystery opponent hand-picked by Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38.

For the past few weeks, Seth Rollins has been trying everything to get himself on the card at WrestleMania 38, and now he has finally achieved his goal.

On the March 21st edition of Raw, Rollins made his second attempt to secure a match at WrestleMania. This time, he lost in the main event to AJ Styles after Edge interfered. The previous week, he had suffered defeat to Kevin Owens after he challenged his ally for the right to host Steve Austin on a talk show.

Following the match with Styles, a frustrated Rollins was beside himself at ringside and vowed that the next episode of the show wouldn’t happen until he got a match on the ‘Grandest Stage of them All.’

However, the day before Raw, Seth Rollins shared a screenshot on social media, showing him being summoned to a meeting with Vince McMahon on Monday morning.

WWE shared footage of the meeting on Twitter, with Rollins finally being given his WrestleMania match.

To begin with, McMahon was silent as Rollins went through the list of punishments he thought he would receive for his outburst, from suspension to getting fired. However, the WWE Chairman said that he didn’t bring Rollins into the meeting to fire him. In face, he said that if he wanted to be part of WrestleMania, all he had to do was ask instead of “jumping through all those hoops” he had set himself in recent weeks.

McMahon then explained that if the former World Champion was on the show he would need his own special main event. At this, he confirmed that Rollins would have a WrestleMania match, but he will only find out who he is facing when he’s already in the ring. Furthermore, the opponent will be hand-picked by McMahon.

It has long been rumoured that Seth Rollins will face a returning Cody Rhodes at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals. It has been widely reported that Rhodes has re-signed with the company, although there has been no confirmation from either side.

Most recently, it was claimed that high profile figures in the company want Rhodes to bring his entire ‘American Nightmare’ persona with him to WWE, including gear, music, and even pyro.
