Sad Update On Adam Cole’s AEW Future
There’s not much good news going around when it comes to the AEW future of Adam Cole.
At All In: Texas in July 2025, Adam Cole was scheduled to defend his TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher.
However, just hours before the show, Cole was forced to vacate the title as he was medically unfit to compete. Tony Khan made a four-way match for the vacant title, which Dustin Rhodes won.
Before the bout, Adam Cole addressed the fans, detailing the injury that led to him being forced to give up the title. Cole also explained that it looked uncertain as to whether he’d ever be able to wrestle again. So far, Cole has not returned to the ring.
Cole was present at Worlds End in late 2025, with Tony Khan giving an update on his future. But it seems now everything has gone quiet again.
Adam Cole Struggling With Post-Concussion Syndrome
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted that he’s heard nothing about any potential return for Cole, and detailed some of the issues that the star is dealing with:
I’ve heard nothing and I ask pretty often about once a month. I know that Tony Khan would never want Adam Cole compromising his health or recovery just to be on TV or the road.
We have seen that happen with Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson. They return to the road to do commentary or agenting or creative work and it worsens their injuries.
I know Adam Cole was dealing with some post-concussion syndrome symptoms around the time he retired. And I mean like, listen, I’ve dealt with that myself and I know the uphill battle that he faces and his is probably way more severe than mine was.
And it’s horrifying. Some days you wake up and you’re dizzy and you can’t focus and there’s light sensitivity and if you ride in cars sometimes you’ll get sick. Like it’s very sucky to deal with. So there aren’t like a lot of great travel options.
