Roman Reigns Expected To Miss WWE Backlash PLE

It appears that Roman Reigns will be skipping the next WWE Premium Live Event, which is Backlash in Puerto Rico.

The last time WWE held a Premium Live Event in Puerto Rico was New Year’s Revolution 2005. There was a lot of excitement about this year’s event with WWE also announcing that two-time GRAMMY award-winning and global recording artist Bad Bunny will host Backlash on Saturday, May 6th in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Bad Bunny is from Puerto Rico, so it’s a huge show to him especially.

Despite the feeling that this year’s Backlash might be bigger than past years, the man that holds WWE’s two top titles will not be at the show.

Roman Reigns, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, will apparently not be a part of this year’s Backlash event. That’s according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

“Reigns will not be on the San Juan card, or at least that wasn’t the plan on Monday, but he will be doing other major events over the next few months.”

At WrestleMania 39 last weekend, Reigs successfully retained his WWE & Universal Titles against Cody Rhodes in a controversial fashion. That’s because Reigns needed help from a Paul Heyman distraction and Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa, which led to Reigns hitting a Spear for the win.

Since Roman Reigns typically works the major WWE PLE shows in Saudi Arabia, it’s likely that he will be part of WWE’s King & Queen Of The Ring event on May 27th in Saudi Arabia.

Also if you’re wondering, Roman Reigns is not advertised for tonight’s Smackdown episode.

In addition to Backlash taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Friday, May 5th edition of Smackdown will also be in San Juan.
