ROH Final Battle 2023 Results

Athena ROH Womens Champion

ROH Final Battle was the last major show for the promotion in 2023 and provided thrills and spills for the fans in attendance in Garland, Texas.

The main card for Final Battle kicked off with El Hijo del Vikingo defeating Black Taurus to retain his AAA Mega Championship thanks to his 630 splash. The ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship stayed exactly where it is as well when The Gates of Agony and Brian Cage defeated TMDK’s Shane Haste, Kosei Fujita, and Bad Dude Tito.

Ethan Page continued his good run by defeating Tony Nese in an I Quit match. Page’s former tag team partner Scorpio Sky came to his aid to stop the meddling Mark Sterling from interfering which allowed Page to pick up the win.

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose defeated Vertvixen before the Survival of the Fittest match took place to crown a new ROH World Television Champion.

Kyle Fletcher Claims ROH Gold

Lee Moriarty, Komander, Lee Johnson, Bryan Keith, Kyle Fletcher, and Dalton Castle faced off in an elimination match to crown a new ROH TV Champion after Samoa Joe vacated the championship as he set his sights on MJF’s AEW World Title. Kyle Fletcher won that bout giving the Aussie Open star the first major singles title of his career.

Wheeler Yuta kept his ROH Pure Championship by beating “Filthy” Tom Lawlor before Keith Lee finally ended his feud with Shane Taylor with Lee picking up the big win.

FTR teamed with Mark Briscoe for a massive six-man tag team match against Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli in a bout to honour the late Jay Briscoe. The original match ended in a double countout as both teams brawled at ringside but Mark Briscoe demanded the match continue with anything goes and that’s what happened. Mark Briscoe won the bout for his team as he dropped Bryan Danielson with the Jay Driller.

Eddie Kingston saw off Anthony Henry in a Proving Ground match before the main event between Athena and Billie Starkz for the ROH Women’s World Title.

The match was steeped in story and AEW interviewer Lexy Nair was the ring announcer for the bout as she has been involved in the goings-on between Starkz and Athena for months. In the end, it was a case of the master beating the minion as Athena retained her title by submission. After the match, Athena, Starkz, and Nair all embraced.
