Following the AEW debut of veteran wrestler Roderick Strong, his first match for the company has been announced.

There was a surprise AEW debut on the April 26th edition of AEW Dynamite in Sunrise, Florida.

Adam Cole (bay bay) did a promo calling out Chris Jericho to meet him face-to-face in the ring to talk about the attack from April 19th when Jericho and The Outcasts attacked Cole and his girlfriend Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. Britt was hit repeatedly with a kendo stick by Saraya while Cole was handcuffed to the ropes, so Cole was unable to stop the attack from happening.

Chris Jericho didn’t appear in the arena, but he did send his Jericho Appreciation Society allies Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker to beat up Cole. That led to Orange Cassidy and Bandido trying to make the save, but they were overwhelmed 4 on 3 as well.

That’s when Roderick Strong made his unannounced, AEW debut making the save for his buddy Adam Cole. Strong cleaned house and then embraced Cole. The two men have been very close friends for a long time and were together in the Undisputed Era group on WWE NXT for several years.

It is believed that Strong asked for his WWE release in 2022, but it was not granted and he was kept off TV for the second half of last year and all of this year.

Later on Dynamite, AEW announced that Strong will team with Adam Cole, Orange Cassidy and Bandido to face the Jericho Appreciation Society (Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker and Jake Hager) next Wednesday on Dynamite.

In addition to being good friends with Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, who is out with a neck injury, Roderick Strong is also married to AEW’s Marina Shafir as well.
