More On Roderick Strong’s Shock Switch To AEW

Roderick Strong

The system was shocked again in AEW on Dynamite as Adam Cole was in need of help and his old Undisputed ERA partner Roderick Strong was on hand to assist.

Cole was at the mercy of the Jericho Appreciation Society and despite the best efforts of both Bandido and Orange Cassidy, Jericho’s jackals maintained the upper hand. That was until former WWE star Roderick Strong surprised everyone and made his AEW debut. Tony Khan has since followed up to reveal that Strong is indeed All Elite and will be a part of the company going forward.

Fightful Select has now followed up on Strong’s debut by noting in recent months WWE had been silent about his future but discussions surrounding pitches being made for him to coach at the Performance Center for the remainder of his WWE contract but whether or not these pitches were ever made to Strong remains unknown.

Strong is said to have re-signed with WWE in 2021 and plans were in place for him to be the cornerstone of a revamped NXT cruiserweight division but after Triple H’s power dwindled following his health scare, those plans were abandoned.

In 2022, Roderick Strong is believed to have asked for his release from the company which was rejected but WWE did tell 2K to keep him out of the most recent video game which is perhaps an indication that they knew his time was coming to an end.

AEW talents are said to be pleasantly surprised by Strong’s debut in the company as he remains a popular figure within the wrestling industry.

As well as his obvious on-screen link to Adam Cole in AEW, Roderick Strong’s wife Marina Shafir is also part of the company.
