Ricochet Blasted By Wrestling Veteran For Being An “Idiot”
Ricochet is currently at the center of a major controversy following his AEW Revolution match, where he lost the AEW National Championship to Jack Perry in a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royale.
After the match, he engaged in an insensitive interaction with a fan on social media. A fan criticized Ricochet’s performance, which did not sit right with him, and he clapped back by commenting on the fan’s MS (Multiple Sclerosis) condition.
The comment drew immediate backlash from fans and fellow wrestlers, which forced Ricochet to delete the post and issue an apology.
Jim Cornette Says Ricochet’s Apology Was Not Genuine
Veteran Jim Cornette recently commented on the matter on his Drive Thru podcast, where he claimed that Ricochet did not issue the apology from the bottom of his heart.
He said Ricochet only apologized because his close friends suggested it was the best way to avoid further backlash. Jim Cornette also criticized how Ricochet handles fan criticism and suggested that he does not respond well to it.
“It sounds to me like some adult in his periphery — whether it was professional or personal, his mother, his wife, his boss, whoever — went and said, ‘Dumb***, look what you’ve just said. What the f***? Look what you look like for saying what you’ve just said.’ Probably shamed him — shamed him, as Aunt Lola would say — into some form of realization that he had f***** up.”
“He has admitted that he actually, legitimately does get mad at each and every one of these instead of just, ‘block you, smartass…’ He’s legitimately mad and stirred up by these people, and that’s why he keeps jousting with them and putting his foot in his mouth.”
“The problem is that Ricochet sounds like he’s f****** 12… He can’t make the statement that ‘I’m trying to be a heel and draw money with my character’ because he sounds like he’s f****** 12 with some of this s***.”
“There’s no wit, there’s no professionalism. He’s just going at people… Either pick one and slice them to the bone and let it be an example… or just block them and move on. If you can’t fence… then he just sounds like an idiot with an issue.”
