Ric Flair Wishes He Could Manage AEW Star

Ric Flair

Ric Flair has named the AEW star that he wishes Tony Khan had let him manage in the company amid ongoing uncertainty over the star’s future.

Andrade El Idolo has had quite a few seconds during his relatively short time in AEW. When the star was introduced to the company in 2021 he was accompanied by Vickie Guerrero. That soon shifted to Chavo Guerrero and when he took his leave from the company, El Idolo was solely accompanied by Jose The Assistant.

Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast – courtesy of AdFreeShows – Ric Flair discussed Andrade El Idolo’s situation in AEW and says he doesn’t keep up with what he’s doing there but says he wishes Tony Khan had let him manage his son-in-law:

“I haven’t spoken with him, I knew he had a big match … I don’t really what — really haven’t kept track of what he’s doing there. I had hoped, as I told you before, I wish Tony would have let me manage him. He is an absolutely phenomenal worker and a tough kid. I wish I could have managed him, but I guess Tony elected not to go with me for whatever reason.”

Andrade El Idolo puts his AEW career on the line in a huge match on Rampage in Wahington D.C. against Dark Order’s 10. One man who may well be rooting for the Dark Order member is Sammy Guevara who got into a social media war of words with El Idolo over claims the Mexican star made in a recent interview.
