Rhea Ripley Collapsed Backstage At WWE Event; Details Revealed
Rhea Ripley had a panic attack at this WWE Event.
Rhea Ripley is one of the most well-known figures of the women’s division in WWE. She is the current WWE Women’s Champion and is a top star who has main-evented the past 8 WrestleManias.
Last year, she was part of a tag team with her best friend IYO SKY, and the pair were dubbed RHIYO and went on to have some success, even becoming Women’s Tag Team Champions for a brief period after winning the titles from the Kabuki Warriors in January.
Ripley is currently headed into Clash in Italy for a rematch with Jade Cargill, her WrestleMania 42 opponent, whom she defeated to win the gold. The Eradicator’s title will be on the line once again against the Storm in an anticipated rematch.
Before that, Rhea Ripley sat down with Stephanie McMahon on her What’s Your Story podcast and spoke about a harrowing experience she had during WWE’s Australia Tour (Ripley’s home country), where she suffered a panic attack backstage.
Rhea Ripley Shares Details About Backstage Collapse During WWE’s Australia Tour
During the interview, Rhea Ripley revealed that she put too much pressure on herself during that event since it was in her hometown and she wanted everything to go just right. The pressure led to a panic attack.
I had like that on my mind. I had like the people pleaser me trying to see everyone at home. I had me trying to please everyone in Australia because I felt like the face of Australia in WWE. So I was like, I take full responsibility for everything that’s happening here. I take responsibility for how I perform. I take responsibility for how these fans treat my peers. I took responsibility for too much.
Ripley admitted to being a people pleaser and wanted to make sure everyone was happy.
And I just wanted to make sure everyone was happy. And I was just like at such a really low point. Like even after, because we had the three shows. We had SmackDown, then we had Crown, and then we had Raw. By the time Raw was done, I collapsed in catering.
She then described in detail how and why she collapsed. She revealed that she hadn’t eaten or drunk any water, which later led to a panic attack.
Yeah, it was bad. I had like a full panic attack and I just, I couldn’t. Like I hadn’t eaten, I hadn’t drank water, my body was shutting down and I was just like, it’s probably the skinniest I’ve ever been. And then that person kept like lingering around just making it worse and like my panic attacks were just getting worse. And I was like, I just, I can’t do this.
