But, how do we know that? Well, WWE: Unreal Season 2 just exposed a big secret!

This is a story about the beginning of the “Biggest Ruse of the Century”.

Triple H had told Cody Rhodes about the angle

The angle started with Seth Rollins supposedly getting hurt during a match against LA Knight in July 2025. He was out of action owing to a busted knee and finally returned at SummerSlam 2025 to cash in the Money in the Bank contract against CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Almost all of WWE was made to believe that he was hurt, but it was an insane fake-injury angle that Triple H, Seth Rollins, Bobby Roode, Becky Lynch, LA Knight, and Paul Heyman knew about. However, Cody Rhodes was informed about it as well.

WWE Unreal revealed that ahead of Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Triple H had told Cody Rhodes about the angle and that once it is executed, the medical team would actually come out to tend to The Visionary. In fact, the referee wasn’t informed about it either, to ensure only a handful of people knew about it.

You’re our guy. You need to know what’s going on. We are going to do an angle where Seth blows his knees out in this match with LA Knight. We are kayfabying this like a motherf*****, so I don’t want you to mention it to anybody.

The angle worked really well, and when Rollins returned at SummerSlam, the entire roster was shaken to its core. The Visionary would post pictures of himself wearing knee braces and using crutches, so no one guessed it was an angle.
