Raquel Rodriguez Allegedly Set For Major Spot In WWE Royal Rumble

Raquel Rodriguez had a strong 2025 in WWE.

Post losing the Women’s Tag Team Championship to Charlotte and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam, she was featured in various singles matches, where she won against the likes of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.

During a supershow in Japan, she earned a title shot against Stephanie Vaquer, following which her in-ring persona became more dominant.

Rodriguez went on to earn two more championship opportunities, coming up short again versus Vaquer.

The evolution in her character earned her praise from WWE legends like Kevin Nash, earning her new monikers like “Big Mami Cool” and “Big Sexy,” which was Nash’s nickname when he performed.

With the 2026 Royal Rumble just around the corner, Sam Roberts of Notsam Wrestling has predicted a major spot for her in the women’s version of the match.

Raquel Rodriguez in there, I think, they’re gonna give Raquel a female Diesel spot. They’re already calling her ‘Big Sexy,’ but I think they’re really putting her over that part of Raquel. So, I think she’ll end up with the Diesel spot. I don’t know if there will be a men’s Diesel spot if they give it to Raquel in the women’s. [53:07 onwards]

Raquel Rodriguez’s Rivalry With Stephanie Vaquer Continues On WWE Raw

On the January 5 edition of WWE Raw, Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer was spotted wearing a special boot on her left foot, indicating an injury.

During her in-ring interview, Raquel Rodriguez sidelined her and viciously attacked her injured leg. The attack continued backstage when La Primera was being attended by medical professionals.

Vaquer got taken out again by the 35-year-old on the January 12 taping, who this time used the Women’s title to attack her leg.

On January 26, Vaquer teamed up with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky to take on the women of Judgment Day, including Raquel Rodriguez, which the babyfaces won.

In a backstage segment later, Rodriguez was seen looking for Stephanie Vaquer, who sneaked up on her and threw her up against some equipment. The two brawled before being separated by staff and match officials.

A match was then finalized between them for the title next week under the Philadelphia Street Fight stipulation.
