Paul Heyman has been a part of the wrestling industry since 1987.

One of the most renowned times of his career was when he was a part of ECW. He takes immense pride in the work the team and he did with ECW.

Recently, Paul Heyman made a claim about the Attitude Era, which ruffled some feathers.

Paul Heyman credited ECW for WWE’s Attitude Era

The Attitude Era is considered to be WWE’s most successful era. It lasted from 1997 to 2002 (approximately), and saw the rise of WWE’s product in the market.

While speaking to Catch Club, Heyman credited ECW as the inspiration for WWE’s Attitude Era. He claimed that the billionaires runningfile:///C:/Users/ShuvangiChaudhury/AppData/Local/Temp/4f70b587-0084-4fd8-a35f-ce63838485ea_Data%20Science%20Reading%20Material%201-20%20(1).zip.5ea/Data%20Science%20Reading%20Material%201-20/09%20From%20AI%20to%20DT%20-%20AI%20Readiness%20Framework.pdf WWE stole the concept because ECW was the best.

However, Vince Russo and Jonathan Coachman, who were both a part of WWE’s Attitude Era, called Paul Heyman out on it on The Coach and Bro. Vince Russo revealed that he was inspired by what Eric Bischoff was doing and not by what Heyman was doing at ECW.

Furthermore, Russo questioned that if Heyman thinks the Attitude Era is a copy of what he did in ECW, why has he not done the same with WWE?

If Paul Heyman, who was the boss, I don’t want to say owner because he didn’t pay anybody. If you’re an owner, you got to pay people. And he didn’t pay anybody. Uh, if he was the boss at ECW, Paul, where’s your attitude been the last 20 years? You’re talking about attitude. Where has your attitude been since you’ve been employed by the WWE? That’s a joke, bro. There has been no attitude in the WWE programming for 20 years.

If I was inspired by ECW in any way, shape, or form, why wouldn’t I say it? I have no, listen, people know that Eric Bishoff and I are not the best friends in the world. And I am telling you, I was inspired by what he was doing at WCW. But again, what makes me laugh is this guy is going to talk about attitude where he’s had the difference. He’s had the opportunity to make a difference in the WWE for the last 20 years. Where’s the attitude, Paul?
