Pro Wrestling Future Of Paige VanZant Has Screeched To A Halt

Paige VanZant

Former WWE star and The Brood faction leader Gangrel is a legend in the wrestling community, with over 10 years of experience himself in the squared circle. After his professional wrestling days were over, Gangrel has trained and coached others how to thrive in the industry, and this includes MMA fighter Paige VanZant.

Gangrel has owned a training school at one point in his post-wrestling career, and nowadays, he teaches students the business at the Florida training facility of Coastal Championship Wrestling.

When it comes to talent produced, one of the biggest students that’s come from under his wing is Paige VanZant, who has been attempting to go from mixed martial arts to professional wrestling. Earlier in the year, Paige VanZant signed with AEW, appearing on the promotion on multiple occasions, which eventually led to her first bout being at the company’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view earlier this year.

However, VanZant’s career as a professional wrestler has came to a halt, with Gangrel explaining the situation on “K & S Wrestlefest.”

“Yes, I did [train VanZant] for a little while there. She did well; she didn’t train as much as I would have liked for her to train, but I haven’t seen her since that match. She did that match, she wrote me, and said, ‘Hey, I’d like to go over the match with you and some critique.’ And I said, ‘Sure,’ and that’s the last I heard from her. She’s an athlete. She could have been really, really good at it actually.”
