Orange Cassidy has finally won some gold in AEW after defeating Pac to win the All-Atlantic Championship on Dynamite.

When AEW launched in 2019, Orange Cassidy wasn’t that well known to the worldwide audience. The unique gimmick of Cassidy as a lazy man that wears jeans and a jean jacket led to growing popularity over the last three years. Cassidy has also impressed in the ring as he earned AEW World Title matches while also beating the likes of Chris Jericho, Adam Cole and many others in his AEW career. Whether you like his style or not, it’s hard to deny Cassidy’s popularity.

Pac was the first AEW All-Atlantic Champion after winning the new championship in a Fatal 4-Way match at the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26th. The others in the match were Clark Connors, Malakai Black and Miro. Since then, Pac defeated all challengers for his title.

At the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam episode of Dynamite on September 21st, Pac used a ringside hammer as a weapon to keep the title against Orange Cassidy. At Battle of the Belts IV on October 7th, Pac used the hammer again to beat Cassidy’s friend Trent Beretta.

When Pac faced Cassidy on the October 12th episode of Dynamite, Pac tried to use the hammer again. However, Cassidy’s friend Danhausen was at ringside to prevent it. Danhauseen also did his infamous “curse” on Pac as well. Pac was able to find another hammer, but Cassidy avoided it. Cassidy hit Pac with the Orange Punch two times in a row and covered Pac for the pinfall win in the main event of the show.

The winner AND NEW AEW All-Atlantic Champion was Orange Cassidy. Tony Schiavone mentioned it was Orange Cassidy’s 68th win in AEW.

After the match, Cassidy got a hug from his Best Friends allies Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta and Danhausen because you’ve got to give the people what they want.

While Pac is no longer the All-Atlantic Champion, he is still holding the Trios Tag Team Titles with his Death Triangle allies Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo.
