NXT Star Escapes With TNA Championship After Intense Match

TNA International Champion Stacks made an appearance on NXT New Year’s Evil last week as he looked to secure another title opportunity for himself.

He was amongst many current NXT stars who looked to challenge the North American Champion, Ethan Page, for his championship, but found out that he had to defend his own championship.

LFG Season 2 winner Shiloh Hill recently defeated Stacks and Arianna Grace in a mixed tag team match on NXT, and he utilized that to earn a shot at the TNA International Championship.

Stacks retains his championship on WWE NXT

The match was off to a fast start as Grace slapped Hill to start the proceedings. Shiloh Hill dominated most of the match, and it seemed like he would leave with the title tonight.

Stacks looked to cheat his way to win, but his attempts were being thwarted by the referee, who could see through all of his antics. He ultimately did retain his title after getting a little help from his fiancée.

Arianna Grace was present at ringside throughout and helped Stacks retain by reversing Shiloh’s inside cradle pin attempt. Hill almost got the pin before Grace used her feet to turn the momentum in Stacks’ favor, and he got away with the win.
