NXT Legend Returns To The Promotion; Set For NA Title Match At Stand & Deliver

NXT Interim General Manager recently announced a Gauntlet Eliminator match to become the number one contender for the NXT North American Championship for tonight.

The match was off to a brutal start when Shiloh Hill requested the start and did so against Jackson Drake. Both competitors put on an interesting show for the fans before Dion Lennox made his way into the match.

The penultimate entrant of the match was The Birthright’s Charlie Dempsey, as announced by Robert Stone earlier, before the fifth entrant was revealed during the match.

Candice LeRae interrupted the gauntlet match and revealed that Johnny Gargano is the final competitor of the match in a last-ditch attempt to bring Gargano back to his former self.

However, he still didn’t seem interested and was attacked by Dempsey a couple of times. In the meantime, Dion Lennox was attacked by OTM, who left a weakened Lennox for Shiloh Hill to pin him and eliminate him from the match first.

Gargano was being cheered by the NXT Universe throughout the match as they wished to see the NXT legend that he is. He spent most of the match lying on different corners of the arena as the other three wrestled to become the number one contenders.

Hill put in an impressive performance eliminated everyone else from the match, as he pinned both Jackson Drake and Charlie Dempsey. However, he was then taken out of the match by the rest of The Birthright.

They attacked Hill and sent him straight into the steel steps, and Dempsey hit him with a suplex on the floor. Candice then pushed Gargano onto Hill, and he pinned him by default, becoming the new challenger for the North American Championship.

However, Myles Borne came out to the ring following the match, and Gargano looked like he had returned to his former self during a post-match showdown with the champion.
