NXT Kicks Off With Major Women’s North American Championship Defense

A huge episode of WWE NXT is in store for fans tonight, as multiple title matches have been announced for the show, making it an intriguing one.

The episode is sure to crown a new NXT Champion after Oba Femi relinquished the title last month. The episode opened with the appointment of Robert Stone as the new interim General Manager of the brand.

That was followed up by the first match of the night, which saw the Women’s North American Champion, Izzi Dame, defend her title against Lola Vice and Thea Hail.

Izzi Dame retains her NXT North American Championship

The match got off to a fast start, with all three women giving it their all to leave as the North American Champion tonight. Lola Vice, fresh from her Royal Rumble appearance, put in a dominant shift in the match.

Vice dominated for large portions of the match, while the other two had moments where they shone in the match. However, Vice was taken out of the equation by Kelani Jordan as she smashed her hand under a ladder.

Thea tried to take advantage of the situation and locked in the Kimura Lock on Dame, but she overpowered her in the nick of time and hit her with the Dame Over to retain the title.
