Nikki Bella Gives Insight Into What “Brie Mode” Really Means
Nikki Bella has revealed some interesting information about what “Brie Mode” actually means when it comes to her WWE Hall of Fame sister.
The Bella Twins are WWE Hall of Famers who are widely regarded by many fans as pioneers of the women’s division. Nikki and Brie Bella were known for using “Twin Magic” early on in their careers as a way to fool opponents by switching which twin was actually in a match.
As their careers developed, the personalities of the twins grew, with Nikki being known as more outgoing and fearless, while Brie was quiet and reserved.
There were also times when Brie would shout out about “Brie Mode” during matches, and it’s a phrase that was also featured in her theme music.
During an appearance on the Cody Rhodes What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Nikki revealed that the “Brie Mode” phrase dates back to the twins’ high school days/
“So I did ‘Brie Mode.’ I came up with that in high school. Keg killer. Call her that too. Yep, she was both.”
When certain people drink alcohol, some of them handle it well and others do not, which led to Nikki saying more about her sister.
“So she hits a certain point of intoxication. She’ll have… it’s just all of a sudden, number four drink or whatever, and then she looks at you, and you’re like, ‘We’re about to be in Brie mode.’”
“Brie Mode” Was Like Having Free Entertainment For Nikki Bella
Nikki Bella continued talking about her sister Brie’s drunken behavior that would lead to Brie Mode.
“Majority of the time it’s really fun and playful. I mean, there’s no fear in her, fearless, like, wants people, dancing now. Then sometimes it would turn into wrestling, biting, and I’d have to be like, ‘You can’t fight random people who are waiting for a drink.’ That’s when it would like… so then Brie Mode, I didn’t know what I’d get.
But majority of the time it was hilarious and funny. It was like having free entertainment. But I would just have to make sure to stay sober and responsible.
We’d be, it doesn’t matter where we would be, and I would just be like, ‘Oh my gosh, here it goes. We’re about to get a performance for hours.’ And then I’d put her to bed.”
While Nikki Bella has made her return to the WWE ring at Evolution and in a win over Chelsea Green, Brie Bella hasn’t joined her sister yet. However, Nikki Bella has made it clear that she does want to see her sister Brie return to the ring with her, so it certainly could happen one day.
