WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella is taking a swing at Hollywood once again, this time in a cameo role in Happy Gilmore 2.

The new American sports comedy film, directed by Kyle Newacheck and written by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler, is the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 cult classic. It is set to premiere on Netflix on July 25, 2025.

The movie sequel follows Sandler’s iconic character as he comes out of retirement for one more run on the golf course. The film is stacked with familiar faces and newcomers, featuring Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, Ben Stiller, Kevin Nealon, Sunny Sandler, AEW star Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and WWE Superstar Becky Lynch in a cameo role alongside Nikki Bella.

Nikki Bella Reflects on Her Happy Gilmore 2 Experience

In a recent interview with E! News, Nikki Bella shared how surreal and exciting it was to work on such a massive project, her biggest feature film to date. Her joy was evident as she reflected on the experience and praised the atmosphere Sandler created on set. Bella also emphasized how hands-on Sandler was throughout filming.

“Oh, my gosh. The greatest thing ever. He is absolutely amazing. The set was so much fun. I truly am — I mean, I’ve always believed in laughter is the best medicine, but it really is,” Nikki Bella said.

She continued, “Sometimes when people do sequels, it’s never as good. This is going to be even better than the first, and I’m not even saying that because I’m part of it. But we just could not stop crying, laughing on set, and Adam just makes it really comfortable for everyone.”

“I’ve never been in that big of a feature film, and like, he’s so hands-on. Every scene with everybody on how you can make every scene even better, and it was so much fun. I’m so excited for everyone to see it,” she added.

She even teased a major part of the movie that hasn’t been revealed in any promotional materials.

“Because so much of the movie, they haven’t even teased yet in the trailers. Like, there is a massive part that people are going to be obsessed with, and that’s kind of where I’m at, that they haven’t even teased, that I think it’s so cool that they haven’t really teased it, because you’re gonna watch and you’re gonna go, ‘oh, it’s going in this direction.’” [H/T Fightful]
