WWE WrestleMania 42’s match card had some extremely entertaining matches spread across both nights, but there was one match scheduled for tonight that was expected to be the most brutal one across the weekend.

Ever since the start of the year, Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre have been at each other’s throats and have left no opportunity to cause harm to one another over these last few months.

After things became extremely unhinged between the two on SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis made a one-on-one match official between the two for WrestleMania 42, but it was announced to be an unsanctioned match.

This was the first unsanctioned match in WWE since Sami Zayn took on Kevin Owens last year at Elimination Chamber, and it didn’t disappoint. Fatu was quick to react and jumped McIntyre while he was still making his entrance.

The match was off to a hard-hitting start with multiple chairs, tables, and a toolbox being introduced right from the start. McIntyre got the upper hand early on and posted on X mid match like he has done over the last two WrestleManias.

He seemed to be heading for the win, but missed with a Claymore Kick, and Fatu hit him with his trademark moonsault, but the Scottish Warrior possibly became the first person to kick out of the move.

McIntyre got back into the match by attacking Fatu with a wrench before suplexing him onto a steel chair. McIntyre took time in following up on his attacks and allowed Fatu to get back into the match with a Superkick.

He then assaulted the former Undisputed WWE Champion with the referee’s belt, but Drew gathered strength to hit a surprise Claymore Kick, but Fatu kicked out before the third count. He then pushed Fatu from the top rope onto a table set up outside, but couldn’t capitalize on it.

Jacob recovered to lay Drew out with a toolbox to the head and had him set up on a table inside the ring. He then hit his trademark Moonsault onto the table to get the win over Drew McIntyre.
