News: NWA Announces All-Women’s Pay-Per-View on August 28, Mickie James Will Be Executive Producer

The National Wrestling Alliance, which is owned by music legend Billy Corgan, had some big news on tonight’s episode of NWA POWERRR.

Corgan announced that the NWA is returning to St. Louis from August 28 to August 31 with two NWA pay-per-views taking place in St. Louis along with TV tapings. One of the PPVs will be their next regular PPV featuring the NWA roster and they are calling it NWA 73 on August 29.

The big news is that the NWA will have their first-ever All-Women’s pay-per-view on April 28 called NWA EMPOWERRR that will have former six-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James as the Executive Producer of that show.

When James was released by WWE in April, she did interviews, including on her own GAW TV Youtube show, saying that she had pitched to WWE to do another All-Women’s pay-per-view like the Evolution 2018 PPV. However, WWE turned her down. Now that she is no longer in WWE, she is excited to lead this All-Women’s pay-per-view with Billy Corgan’s NWA promotion.

Some of the current women’s wrestlers that appear on NWA POWERRR include current NWA Women’s Champion Kamille, Serena Deeb, Thunder Rosa, Melina, Taryn Terrell, Kylie Rae and more.

You can order the NWA pay-per-views on FITE TV, which is also the home of NWA’s weekly television show POWERRR.

TJR Thoughts: I’m excited for Mickie as somebody that has known her very well for over a decade. I had to keep quiet when I found out and I did. She has over 20 years of experience as a wrestler, she knows the business very well and I know she’s been friends with Billy Corgan for a long time. Mickie’s husband Nick Aldis is the longtime NWA World Champion as well, so it means a lot to the family to be involved with the NWA and to put on this women’s wrestling PPV in August.
