New AEW Title Match Made For Forbidden Door

Mercedes Mone will put her AEW TBS Title on the line at Forbidden Door in London.

Forbidden Door will see stars from AEW and NJPW do battle in The O2 Arena in London, England, on August 24th. At 2024’s Forbidden Door, Mercedes Mone defeated Stephanie Vaquer in a title vs. title match to hang on to her TBS Title and win the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. Vaquer then went on to almost immediately sign with WWE.

Now, in 2025, Mone is still TBS Champion, and she will face a very different challenge at Forbidden Door. On the August 6th edition of Dynamite, a four-way match took place with the winner earning a title shot against The CEO in London.

Mercedes Mone Faces New AEW Star

Billie Starkz, Queen Aminata, Alex Windsor, and Skye Blue all took part in that bout, with Windsor picking up the win via a small package on Starkz.

AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm stopped Athena from interfering in the bout to help her minion, Billie Starkz, and after the match, Athena, Starkz, and Mercedes Mone left both Windsor and Toni Storm lying in the ring.

Forbidden Door will see Alex Windsor compete for an AEW title for the first time, and she will do so with her compatriot English crowd no doubt fully behind her.
